Hey!
Quick tip today - especially for your late-round picks:
Not every backup running back deserves a roster spot.
Lots of drafters stash random backups “just in case.”
But here’s the truth:
A backup who only touches the ball 6-8 times a game - even after an injury - has no real value.
Here’s who I’m targeting instead:
I want backs who:
Are one injury away from 15+ touches
Already play on third downs or red zone snaps
Are on offenses committed to running the ball or throwing to their RBs
Those are the guys who can win you weeks if called upon.
This year, for example:
Ray Davis → could steal passing work and red-zone touches in Buffalo
Jordan Mason → becomes a volume machine if Aaron Jones misses time
Tyjae Spears → saw significant work alongside Pollard when healthy in 2024
Meanwhile, others - like Blake Corum or Isaac Guerendo - might stay in split backfields even if the starter goes down.
Bottom line:
Don’t waste picks on “handcuffs” who have no path to real volume. Draft backups who could become true starters overnight.
See you tomorrow with another tip!
