Hey!
I’ve received plenty of questions about players who had poor performances in Week 4. There’s a lot of panic going around.
Let’s talk about the players that people are panicking about the most right now:
#3 Bucky Irving
Week 4 was not good for Bucky. We knew it would be rough without Baker Mayfield but this much worse than expected.
Not only did the offense struggle with a backup QB under center, but Bucky saw his worse usage of the season.
He played 57% of the snaps, didn’t play in the 2-minute offense and lost goal-line work to Sean Tucker.
It’s close to full panic on Bucky considering Baker could miss another 4+ weeks…
#2 D’Andre Swift
He entered Week 4 with a knee issue. There was always a chance the Bears leaned on Kyle Monangai more because of this.
However, the final box score is a bit deceiving because although Monangai had a monster game of 150 yards and 2 TDs…
Swift actually led the backfield in carries and usage until his 3rd quarter fumble. But after the fumble Swift was benched the rest of the day.
I’m not panicked about Swift. It’s unlikely the fumble keeps him in the doghouse moving forward.
The Bears lead the NFL in yards per game and just ran for 232 yards with a backup QB under center. I’m buying low on Swift…

#1 Omarion Hampton
It only got worse for Hampton’s usage in Week 4.
The Chargers turned to a nasty 3-headed backfield where each RB played between 34% and 38% of the snaps.
But the worst part? Hampton ranked 3rd in the backfield in snaps & routes run.
He was able to turn 11 touches in 53 yards and a TD in a tough matchup, you may have a mini-sell window this week.
After the game Jim Harbaugh was asked about the 3-way rotation and he said “We think it’s best for our team”
It seems like OC Mike McDaniel wants to use Mitchell more. McDaniel made it a point to get Mitchell in free agency.
It's a good time to try and trade away Hampton if you can…
