Hey!

I’ve received plenty of questions about players who had poor performances in Week 5. There’s a lot of panic going around.

Let’s talk about the players that people are panicking about the most right now:

#3 Chase Brown

Brown has been a major disappointment as a 2nd round fantasy pick this season.

Week 5 got even more concerning because Samaje Perine became more involved in the backfield. Perine played 51% of the snaps while Brown played 60%.

Both backs earned 16 opportunities while Perine was the more efficient RB. Over the past 2 games, Brown has totaled just 49 yards on 22 carries.

There are 2 ways to look at this:

  1. It could be a one-off where the coaches fed the hot hand (Perine) against a bad Dolphins defense

  2. Brown’s struggles may finally be catching up to him

Either way, this is concerning for Brown and I’m at a 7/10 on the panic meter…

#2 Cam Skattebo

He fumbled for the 4th time this season and cost his team a chance at a game-winning field goal attempt in overtime.

That’s not great but it gets worse because although Skattebo played 63% of the snaps and handled 13 of 21 backfield carries, he remains a touchdown or bust player.

In Week 5, Skattebo totaled 71 scoreless yards on 15 touches. The Giants have scored 27+ points in back-to-back games. They’ve had easy matchups, yet Skattebo has scored just 7 points each of the past 2 weeks.

Some tougher matchups against Houston, Philly and Jacksonville are looming. I’d sell Skattebo if you can right now. I’m 6/10 on the panic meter here.

#1 Ladd McConkey

If you started him in Week 5 it was brutal. He was reportedly active for the game but played 0 snaps.

When McConkey is healthy, he’s a stud. But we’re now 3 years into his NFL career and he’s suffered multiple injuries every season.

Not only is he recovering from a rib injury but now he has a new foot injury, and to make matters worse, Justin Herbert and this Chargers offense look lost.

LAC has a bye Week 7 so there’s a chance they sit Ladd vs. the Chiefs Week 6. Which means the next time we see McConkey could be Week 8 against the Rams.

Not ideal. I’m 6/10 on the panic meter here…
