Hey!

Let me save you from one of the biggest traps in fantasy drafts.

Here’s the quick tip for today:

Planning around bye weeks is a waste of time.

I see it every year:

“I can’t take this guy - I already have two players off in Week 9.”

So they reach for a lesser player… just to “spread out” their byes.

Here’s the truth:

Your league isn’t won or lost in Week 9.

It’s won by drafting the highest-upside players - regardless of their bye.

Here’s how I think about it:

Would you rather have 12 weeks of dominance and maybe lose Week 9?

Or play it safe every week… and end up with a watered-down roster that can’t win the big matchups?

I’ll take the upside - every time.

When do byes actually matter?

  • 2-QB leagues (so both QBs aren’t gone the same week)

  • Best ball or playoff-heavy formats

But in most normal leagues? Draft your best players. Figure out the rest with trades or waivers later.

See you tomorrow with another tip!
