Your Week 3 Waiver Wire Guide

Read this before you add anyone in fantasy football...

Hey!

Two weeks are in the books, and this is the point where the waiver wire can swing your season.

Usage trends are starting to settle in, breakouts are forming, and there are still players sitting in free agency who can make a difference.

Here are 3 names you should be looking at heading into Week 3:

1. Elic Ayomanor: available in 92% of leagues

In Week 1, he faced a legit Broncos defense and still earned 7 targets with a 28% target share, but the box score showed just 2 catches for 13 yards.

He actually led the entire league in unrealized air yards (120). That’s hidden opportunity waiting to turn into points. And in Week 2, it started to show up.

Against the Rams, Ayomanor posted 6 targets, 4 catches, 56 yards, and a highlight-reel TD from Cam Ward - good for 13.6 fantasy points. More importantly, the usage says this wasn’t fluky. He played 73% of the snaps, ran on 68% of routes, and commanded a 21% target rate. That’s WR2 usage…

2. Troy Franklin: available in 97% of leagues

We’re seeing a role change here that you want to buy into.

Last season, Franklin barely made noise with 53 targets and 28 catches. But 2025 has opened completely differently. In Week 1, he logged 59% of snaps and saw 6 targets. The 2nd best usage of his career.

And then Week 2? He exploded: 9 targets, 8 catches, 89 yards, a TD, plus a rushing attempt - 20 fantasy points. Franklin led the entire WR group in snaps (83%), routes (88%), and target share (30%). Courtland Sutton trailed him across the board…

The bonus? He already has built-in chemistry with Bo Nix from Oregon, where Franklin racked up 1,383 yards and 14 scores in 2023…

3. Cam Skattebo: available in 45% of leagues

Skattebo’s Week 1 was ugly, and it probably got him dropped in a ton of leagues. Just 2 carries for -3 yards and 12% of snaps while Tyron Tracy dominated touches.

But Week 2 flipped everything. Skattebo led the backfield in carries (11 to Tracy’s 5), produced 59 total yards and a TD.

He also led the backfield in snaps (52%), while touches leaned heavily his way (14 of 26). Oh, and Devin Singletary was a non-factor in Week 2…

These 3 players are among the best waiver targets heading into Week 3. Whether you need WR upside or RB depth, these are the stashes that could pay off all season…
